JUNIOR LEADERSHIP TEAM

At Oakridge School, we are proud to be represented by our Head Boy, Head Girl, and their Deputies, all chosen from Year 6. These pupils are more than just leaders, they are ambassadors forour school, role models for younger children, and champions of pupil voice. They work closely withthe school’s leadership team to share ideas, inspire others, and help shape the future of Oakridge.

Our student leaders bring enthusiasm, confidence, and a genuine passion for making Oakridge anexciting place to learn. They take on real responsibilities, contribute to wholeschool projects, and helpcreate a warm, welcoming community where every pupil feels valued. Some of the roles they have are:

  • Lead fundraisers: They design fundraising ideas, help organise events, speak in assemblies to promote them, and encourage pupils across the school to take part.
  • Support Globetrotters: They help set up activities, welcome families, guide visitors, and take part in celebrating the many cultures represented at Oakridge.
  • Prepare the hall: They arrange seating, set up equipment, check microphones, and make sure everything is ready for assemblies, performances, and special events.
  • Welcome visitors: They confidently guide guests around the school, explain what learning looks like at Oakridge, and share what makes our community special.
  • Promote a safe, engaging environment: They help staff monitor corridors and playgrounds, remind pupils of expectations, and support younger children to feel safe and
  • included.
  • Lead School Council: They chair meetings, collect ideas from classes, help discusssolutions, and work with teachers to turn pupil suggestions into real improvements.
  • Support assemblies: They help run the technology, introduce speakers, share messages, and sometimes present parts of the assembly themselves.

Our Head Boy, Head Girl, and Deputies help make Oakridge a vibrant, joyful, and forwardthinking
school. They show that leadership isn’t about being the loudest voice — it’s about kindness,
responsibility, teamwork, and the courage to make a difference.

I wanted to become Head Boy because I care about Oakridge and wanted the chance to make a difference. I enjoy helping others, being a positive role model and making sure everyone feels welcome and included.

I believe a great school is one where everyone feels valued and listened to. As Head Boy, I am proud to represent the pupils and help make Oakridge the best it can be.

I show KINDNESS every day by supporting others, being considerate and making sure nobody feels left out.

I wanted to become Head Girl because I feel I can help make Oakridge an even better school. I enjoy listening to others, sharing ideas and finding ways to improve school life for everyone.

My favourite subjects are PE and RE because I enjoy being active, working as part of a team and learning about different beliefs and values. I love hearing other people's ideas and making sure their voices are heard.

I show RESPECT every day by listening carefully to others, valuing different opinions and treating everyone fairly.

I wanted to become Deputy Head Boy because I enjoy helping others and setting a good example. I love sport and know how important teamwork, determination and encouragement are when working towards a goal.

Being a leader means working hard, staying positive and helping others to believe in themselves. I am proud to represent Oakridge and support my fellow pupils.

I show PERSEVERANCE every day by never giving up, always trying my best and encouraging others to do the same.

I wanted to become Deputy Head Girl because I care about others and want everyone to be treated fairly. I am a good listener and believe that taking time to understand different people's views helps us make better decisions.

I enjoy being creative, working with others and helping solve problems. I want every child to feel confident that their ideas matter and will be listened to.

I show INTEGRITY every day by being honest, making fair choices and always trying to do the right thing.
