At Oakridge, we are committed to supporting children’s knowledge, self-esteem, emotional well-being, and resilience, while helping them develop and sustain positive, meaningful relationships.
Children are taught to value themselves and others as members of local, national, and global communities. We encourage curiosity about, and respect for, the diverse values, cultures, and experiences represented within our community, and actively promote positive attitudes based on kindness, empathy, and mutual respect.
We aim to prepare pupils for life beyond school by developing essential skills such as decision-making, informed risk-taking, effective communication, and self-regulation, supporting them to grow into confident, thoughtful, and responsible individuals.
At Oakridge, we are committed to fostering a respectful and supportive school community. We teach pupils the importance of respecting individual choices and treating everyone with kindness, dignity, and respect.
We carefully consider the diverse backgrounds, beliefs, and perspectives of our families when making curriculum decisions. Currently, we have chosen to make the Sex Education (SE) part of the new RHSE curriculum optional, giving parents the opportunity to withdraw their child if they wish.
